The Place: St. Moritz
The Crowd: High-society globe-trotters, international jet-setters, and royal family members like Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex (he's Charles's baby brother). Liz Hurley, George Clooney, Claudia Schiffer, and Rupert Everett have also been spotted here.
Celebrate Christmas: Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher (so fun to say!) is accessible only by horse-drawn sleigh or on cross-country skis. A traditional restaurant in the nearby Fex Valley, it's cute, it's charming it's Swiss. You'll eat fondue, and you'll like it.
Celebrate New Year's Eve: Badrutt's Palace hosts a gala that's invitation-only. If you're lucky enough to score one, expect a Champagne cocktail reception followed by dinner and all-night partying in the Grand Hall and the King's Club, with seating for 200. The black-tie event—its theme this year is Champagne—kicks off with lots of the libation at 7:30 pm.
Stay in style: Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains attracts a hipper, less wrinkled crowd than do some of the other hotels in town. Plus, PlayStations in every room!
