GANSEVOORT SOUTH
Where: Miami Beach, Florida
The crowd: The regular collection of bling-wearing rappers, less-is-more–wearing models, and the occasional celeb looking for a very naughty weekend
How's the water? Ready to party. Its New York City brother has been defined by the scene-y pool, and we all know how Miami adores a scene. Opening in late March 2008, expect this 110-foot-long rooftop pool to be over-the-top. If you're not a guest, best of luck negotiating past the velvet rope and doormen—even during the day. Plunge, the adjoining bar and lounge, also has great views of the beach from its location on the 18th floor. The VIPs will be vying for the cabanas, which will feature 26-inch TVs and PlayStation game consoles. Did we mention it's adults-only?
The poolside tipple: A strong mojito to kick-start your nighttime plans—or a $95 bottle of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne to kick off the day
The hotel: Most of the 334 rooms have terraces overlooking the ocean and will appeal to those who get bored easily. The property has a David Barton gym and spa, a ground-floor pool, a Philippe Chow restaurant, and a full block of boutiques (including an outpost of Big Drop). To guarantee eye candy, there's also a branch of Wilhelmina Models on site. If you didn't get the "predatory" feel yet, the 50-foot shark tank in the lobby should bring the point home.
