Just open the stall door to take in the staggering, panoramic Pacific Ocean views. The Cliff House bathroom may feel wide open to the great beyond, but in fact, it's so cleverly secluded that there's never any reason to shut the blinds (if you want to, anyway, the touch of a button does the trick). And the sexiest open-air surprise of all: Walk directly from your bathroom onto a 1,200-foot-high outdoor deck overlooking Big Sur's rugged coastline, complete with a two-person steel hot tub.

The rest of the bathroom: The deep granite bathtubs in the Cliff House have internal water heaters, so your water won't chill out just as Calgon is taking you away. Cold feet when stepping out of a hot shower aren't a problem, either, thanks to handmade Tibetan rugs covering the heated floors. To complement the soothing sea breeze wafting through the windows, there are a variety of sea salts on offer—lavender, arnica montana, bay, and rosemary—plus bath products from nearby Bonny Doon Farm.
