FLYING PAST COFFEE FIELDS IN KAUAI
Submitted by Stasia Conger, San Diego, California
Great Travel Moment:
After a relaxing afternoon driving through the south side of Kauai, visiting the beaches of Waimea, Eleele, and Poipu, we came upon this view of the Kalaheo Mountains from the road just past the coffee fields. The iron-rich soil turns the asphalt a deep reddish brown in contrast to the fluffy clouds and the green, abandoned cane growing of its own accord. Windows down, swimming my hand out the window through the windsuch a peaceful moment.
