"I LOVE YOU" WALL
Paris
French is often referred to as the "language of love," but this Parisian landmark, tucked away in the citys Montmarte neighborhood, doesnt confine its expressions of adoration to one dialect. Created by artists Frederic Baron and Claire Kito, the "I Love You" wall features that amorous phrase written in 300 different languages on 612 enameled lava tiles. Baron first began asking friends, associates, and government officials to write those three little words into notebooks in 1992; over time, he collected as many as 1,000 different scribbles. Kito then transferred the words onto the romantic fresco, copying each persons distinct handwriting.
