THE GRAY, MILAN
As sexy as: Pec-puffed models at a Milan menswear show.
Titillation factor: The fashionistas and modelizers you'll share the elevators with.
Size matters: 450 square feet, on the top floor, the third.
The seduction: Astonishingly, when it first opened three years ago, the Gray was Milan's first design hotel. Its quirky public areas are fun-and-funky: Jump on the huge pink velvet swing in the lobby before you check in—a playful touch from interiors mastermind Guido Ciompi (who also helmed a few stores for Gucci). Rooms are equally wild, using materials like white ostrich leather and crocodile, plus beds suspended from the ceiling by wires. The best suite has a stunning, trippy staircase made from iron bolted into the wall—don't try to scale it in those new Manolos. The amenities are just as snazzy: a treadmill, plasma TVs, and bubble-powered hydro tubs to soak off the sweat, no matter how you work it up. Donatella would be jealous.
The tab: $648 per night
