Luxury Family Vacations

Italy, easily

Online travel service Ciao Bambino is one-stop shopping for child-friendly Italy (France, England, and Spain, too, but as the title suggests, it's really all about Italy). The brainchild of frustrated traveler-mother Amie O'Shaughnessy, Ciao Bambino corrals a growing collection of (independent) hotels, villas, and apartments, arranging them helpfully by age-appropriateness (Baby Ready, Toddler Fun, School Age Action, Cool for Teens), location (Countryside, City, Mountain, Lake, Seaside), style (Old World, Trendy, Boutique, Traditional, Contemporary) and standard (Simple, Upscale, and Luxurious—though nothing below four-star-equivalent qualifies). They're all hand-selected by O'Shaughnessy and her people, so that you, in turn, can cherry-pick information. The site is packed with tips, reviews, and news—or, better still, the expert team will arrange all the travel details for a reasonable $300 per two weeks. An unusual confluence of usefulness and user-friendliness—altogether molto bene.
