You emerge from the pool and head back to your lounge chair to sip a fruity cocktail and catch some rays. No, you are not back at the resort. This is what constitutes a layover at Singapore Changi Airport. For just $10, fliers can access the airport's palm-shaded Pool Bar on the roof of the Ambassador Transit Hotel in Terminal 1. There, you can take a dip, throw back a Singapore Sling, and watch the 747s zoom overhead. For barhoppers who forgot to stash a swimsuit in their carry-ons, there's also a rooftop outpost of the city's famous Harry's Bar. And if you spend $10 anywhere in the airport, you can turn in your receipt for a free token to ride a giant 40-foot twisting silver slide in Terminal 3 (although we don't advise doing so if you've had a few too many).
