LaGuardia's Delta Air Lines Terminal is undergoing a major face-lift, including the installation of 13 new restaurants and bars with serious Big Apple cred—helpful, since the airport consistently ranks among the most delay-plagued in the world. After clearing security, make a beeline for Bisoux, one of four restaurants that have opened so far. From the duo behind New York's legendary Pastis and Balthazar, this bistro pours old-school favorites with an international twist, designed by in-demand mixologist Tad Carducci. (We like the Marseilles Manhattan: bourbon, sweet vermouth, Angostura Bitters, Ricard, and brandied cherries.) Flight got delayed…again? Head to Tagliare to pair a pint of Brooklyn Lager with a slice from the pizza masters behind Brooklyn's famous Di Fara. Once the terminal's overhaul is completed, in mid-2011, you'll be so busy barhopping that you won't mind when your flight is eventually canceled.
