Summer Lovin'

Solage Calistoga, Napa Valley

Anyone with two taste buds and a hormone knows the seductive power of food and wine, and no place does it better than Napa Valley. Enter Solage Calistoga: The hotel, which debuted in July 2007, has a 20,000-square-foot spa, a 130-foot long swimming pool, private cabanas, and a "Mud Bar," so named for the two dozen varieties of mud that can be slathered on. But the real star of the show? The natural springs that bubble out of the ground. The famed Calistoga mineral water makes an appearance on all the menus—in the restaurant, bar, and spa—for its healing (or, at least, hydrating) properties. The guest cottages have vaulted ceilings, fireplaces, and bathtubs big enough for two. Order up a Mudslide Spa Treatment—a tandem mud and mineral bath—followed by a massage in your room. Even better if you're staying in the Capella Suite, which has a private patio, a hot tub, and a steam bath with a pebble floor (for when things get romantic). And this being northern California, the hotel and spa are eco-friendly, so in essence you're spreading your love to the whole planet.
