Romantic Travel Spots Off the Beaten Path

by Amy Plitt

Tokyo, Japan

Venture outside of Tokyo's hectic city center and youll find this peaceful retreat, which opened in 1941 at the former home of Japanese industrialist Nezu Kaichiro. The museum itself holds many treasures, including calligraphy scrolls, bamboo crafts, and paintings. However, if it's amour that you're after, meander through the institution's manicured grounds. As you walk along a cobblestone path, you'll see quiet ponds, greenery, a few small teahouses, and little else to distract you from your beloved.
