Berlin, Germany

It sounds grim: a convenience store housed in a mostly stationary 1970s BVG Doppeldecker bus that’s parked in a former garbage dump in Berlin, Germany. Said dump has been transformed from a pile of refuse to a refuge where young urbanites gather to play Ping Pong and purchase a laundry list of goods from the bus’s owner, Rosmarie Köckenberger—think licorice, underwear, nail polish, confetti, pickles, sausage, and international magazines.
