World's Best Hotel Design Details

The turntables at the new Ace Hotel in New York

The brand-new NYC branch of the Ace Hotel may well be the city's most anticipated opening this season. The Portland-based mini chain's reasonable rates deserve most of the credit for that, though the decor ain't bad, either. Design references the blue-collar past of the hotel's Flatiron neighborhood, but the best touch is more musical than industrial: Deluxe rooms come equipped with sleek Music Hall turntables and vinyl libraries—with everything from Gershwin to Jay-Z to the Fleet Foxes—sourced from Other Music on East Fourth Street.
