World's Top Spots to Sweat

by Anja Mutić

Zareeba, Regent Palms Resort, Turks & Caicos

The Zareeba is ideal if you prefer to sweat alone, considering you steam in a private chamber at the Regent Palms resort on Turks & Caicos' Grace Bay Beach. It might sound like a hodgepodge of rituals with a dash of pseudoscience (a Caribbean treatment with an Arabic name—zareeba means "protected enclosure"—created by a Jamaican herbalist), but we prefer to think of it as combining the best bits from a variety of therapies. Thirteen different herbs, including pimento, basil, eucalyptus, and lemongrass, are handpicked in the wild, then boiled for an hour to create a cleansing infusion. All you have to do to reach detox heaven is stir the pot of this therapeutic brew for 30 minutes and inhale the aromatic steam inside your little sauna. Next up is a cooling wrap and a 50-minute lymphatic drainage massage to complete the purification process and squeeze out every last toxin.

Zareeba at Regent Spa, $215 for 80 minutes.
