If director John Waters were to give up the movie business and open an antique shop, it might look something like this Hampden kitschfest. If you're in the market for black-velvet paintings of Elvis, crab-shell-shaped ashtrays, Shriners' fezzes, '50s cocktail shakers, pinup postcards, talking Pee Wee Herman dolls, or vintage Life magazine covers of Barbra Streisand, you've found the right place.

Open Thursdays through Sundays 11 am to 4 pm.

Packed with unique home-decor items, this small Hampden shop may have you considering a radical room makeover. Items range from the sedate, such as the Frank Lloyd Wright–inspired light switch plates, to the certifiable: Hilda the Birdfeeder, a hand-painted ceramic feeder shaped like a woman with a beehive hairdo. And nothing says you care less than a "Jesus Hates It When You Smoke" ashtray.

Open Mondays through Thursdays 10 am to 6 pm, Fridays 10 am to 8 pm, Saturdays 10 am to 6 pm, Sundays 10 am to 5 pm.
