This fully catered and hosted on-mountain log cabin affords great views across the Elk Valley. Inside, the scenery includes vaulted ceilings, a full kitchen, and a games room (with pool table, bar, and cable TV). Of the comfortable wood-paneled bedrooms, the best is the one on the top floor, with its own Jacuzzi and fantastic vistas. The room price includes breakfast, afternoon tea, and a homemade three-course evening meal with local beer and wine. The chummy staff will ferry you to the ski hill free of charge. The lodge sleeps ten, with a one-week minimum stay. (Parties of less than eight must pay a supplement.) Reservations are made by e-mail. Guests are picked up at Calgary or Cranbrook airports (or driving directions are provided on request).
