The name of this European-style bar and restaurant would seem to refer to 1997, the year when British rule over Hong Kong ended. But in fact, the owners named the place all the way back in 1982—and it's still popular today. Open almost around the clock (except on weekends, when it just serves dinner and nighttime cocktails), it's a great place for comfort food like burgers, egg dishes, grilled lamb sausages, pasta, or risotto. For many locals, a stop here is akin to hangover prevention.
