This 1864 sprawling Belle Époque hotel is near the sea, Place du Casino, and the opera house, garnering it a perfect location score. With white or mahogany furniture and marble bathrooms, "classic rooms blend with the view to give a peaceful sense of being in another world." Alain Ducasse's travels across France inspire Le Louis XV's menu, and at the top-floor Le Grill, "the breakfast buffet is the best wake-up."

This 1900 landmark has a signature glass dome designed by Gustave Eiffel that "sparkles like a jewel." Rooms in beige and red or beige and blue have busy wallpaper—some have views of the sea, others of the yacht harbor. The morning's catch is the basis for seafood dishes at Vistamar. The newly opened Crystal Bar pours wine and champagne by the glass.

This 1886 neoclassical hotel near Casino Square has a contemporary edge and a glass-domed atrium. Modest guest rooms have textured carpet, floral beddings, and more often than not Mediterranean views. Chef Joël Robuchon's modern Japanese Yoshi is "pretty hip," with a garden that's secluded from Monte Carlo's busy streets. Bronze-colored leather, copper, and black slate characterize the spa's interiors.

Designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, who did Paris's George V conversion for Four Seasons, it's a $260 million Art Deco-style extravaganza of 334 rooms set on 10 acres, all with balconies—75 percent of which have that all-important Med view. The signature treatment at Le Spa Cinq Mondes is the Royal Lulur Ritual, a treatment package inspired by the wedding day customs of the princes and princesses of 16th-century Indonesia. It includes a Turkish bath, papaya scrub, Lulur exfoliation, and Balinese massage. There's also a 320-foot lagoon pool with sandy bottom, an indoor pool and a kiddie pool, four restaurants, several bars and, of course, a casino. If that's not enough gambling for you, the Sporting Monte-Carlo, with Alain Ducasse's Bar & Boeuf nightclub/restaurant, is next door.
