Mary Jane's
613 Main Street
Park City , Utah
Tel: 435 645 7463

This duo of shops is fun for the whole family. Head down the stairs to Mary Jane's for footwear, apparel, and accessories for women by over 200 designers. Seychelles and Jeffrey Campbell provide boots and shoes, and local jewelry maker RJ Designs creates slightly off-center sterling-silver hoops and hearts that dangle from necklaces or are looped into earrings. Also look for clothing by Charlotte Ronson, Nick & Mo, and Scrapbook. In the smaller baby section, you'll find hot little leather shoes, plus hats, blankets, and outfits from Cade & Co.

Open Mondays through Thursdays 10 am to 6 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 10 am to 8 pm, Sundays 11 am to 6 pm.

Terzian Galleries
309 Main Street
Park City , Utah
Tel: 435 649 4927

While some Park City galleries specialize in bringing in works by faraway artists, Terzian proudly focuses on Utahans. You might find Doug Braithwaite's plein-air landscapes, found-object works by contemporary realist Joe Carter, BYU graduate Tyler Meadows Davis's kinetic sculptures of glass and rusted steel, or the graceful paintings of trees by Ron Rogers. Despite all the local promotion, Terzian isn't above outsiders, such as Iranian-Canadian sculptor Davoud Khosravi; his multicolored urns of "wooden pottery," which fit together like elegant puzzles, are made of rare woods such as ebony and purpleheart, as well as more ordinary maple, cherry, and walnut.

Call ahead for an appointment.

Thomas Kearns McCarthey Gallery
449 Main Street
Park City , Utah
Tel: 435 658 1691

It's an odd place for one of the foremost dealers of Russian impressionist painting in the United States, but this Park City gallery is home to a constantly rotating collection of masterful Soviet canvases dating from the 1930s to the present. You've probably never heard of the painters, but the images of both landscapes and rural folk are quite wonderful—and a nice break from Ansel Adams and antler art.

Open Sundays through Thursdays 11 am to 6 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 11 am to 7 pm.
