An offshoot of the original at Andara Resort on Kamala Beach, this high-ceilinged, airy boutique in Phuket's stylish Surin neighborhood is filled with easy pieces perfect for by the pool or on the yacht. The latest guidebooks and maps still point to Banburi, the Indian-run silk shop and tailor on Phang Nga Road, but that venerable classic is no more. In its place is Job and Things, a worthy new gift shop hoping to cash in on the well-known location. The owner, Job, is still figuring out what "things" should define her space. But somewhere among the bolts of cloth, Thai-crafted jewelry, funny hats, and assorted bric-a-brac is, perhaps, the perfect souvenir or gift.

This lemon-yellow and lime-green complex creates some of the best bath and body products in Asia. Located in a two-story building constructed from repurposed shipping containers, Lemongrass is committed to producing lotions and potions from the freshest of materials (guaranteed to have been in the ground, in the tree, or on the vine within the past three months). Load up on the signature organic lemongrass mosquito spray, a Southeast Asia travel necessity. You can choose from the pre-mixed products or blend your own from the existing 90 aromas, like like lavender, coconut, and ylang-ylang. Staff also relish the challenge of creating products based upon your favorite scents—bacon room spray anyone?

Owner Tee Rojcheevaphan says his two-story gallery is the first of its kind in Phuket: a burgeoning collection of contemporary Thai artists that covers an impressive spectrum of styles, from moody Chinese-influenced watercolors to vibrantly colored paintings with Thai themes. You can drop anywhere from a few bucks to many thousands, and Mr. Tee will happily ship to wherever you ask.

Soul of Asia has satellite shops in finer hotels throughout Phuket—including Le Royal Meridien and Trisara—but to get the full-blown experience, go to the main gallery on Ratsada Road in town. Dutch owner Eric Smulders, who once owned a Western art gallery in Hong Kong, established a Phuket foothold so he could do more golfing and fishing. Chinese paintings, ceramics, semiprecious and silver jewelry, and Tibetan rugs are among the gorgeously displayed items in the two-story space, which easily lives up to its "Almost a Museum" tagline.

An antiques shop really should be dusty and unkempt. Touchwood's collection of Buddhas, wooden carvings, and various gewgaws from across Asia and the world feels more like a neglected museum storeroom than a shop, but it's fun to poke around. There's also new furniture made from teak, such as a triangular cabinet with six drawers. Owners Nana and Willie will ship whatever wherever.
