Set just outside Porte Saint-Jean and the city walls of Vieux-Québec, this retro-chic establishment is part of a complex that includes a lavish, gilt-encrusted theater and a bustling Italian restaurant, Il Teatro. The hotel itself is in a restored 1903 building, with 40 Art Deco–style rooms that, although a little on the small side, are full of thoughtful extras: well-stocked minibar, Jacuzzi, CD player. Our only complaint is that the TVs are equipped with outdated VCRs, but movies are available for free at the front desk.
