The family-owned and -operated lodge occupies 10,000 "absolutely beautiful" acres. Thatched-roof rooms in hues of maize, burnt orange, pale green, sky blue, gold, and ivory "are huge and bright." Outside, on the Sabie River, "animals always wander down to the water for a drink." Traditional boma dinners centered around a bonfire come with "the constant calls of hyenas, elephants, and hippos. It's mind-blowing."
