The overwater bungalows with thatched roofs have views of Mount Otemanu. Polished yucca-wood floors, Kaori-wood walls, and floor-to-ceiling louvers create the Tahitian feel. Unobtrusive staff "give you a cool drink, take you to your hut, and leave you alone." Local specialties at Otemanu—mahimahi with pineapple—"didn't do it for me." Excursions include the chance to feed reef sharks and manta rays.
