This 1800s building on the border of East and West Jerusalem was converted into a hotel in 1960 to become "an oasis in the heart of a big city," one with both Ottoman and Arabic architecture. Suites with vaulted ceilings and arches take guests to "a bygone era." Four new loft suites and a new garden were added in a recent renovation. Diplomats regularly meet for drinks at the Cellar Bar.
