This resort 20 minutes south of Cancún airport comprises seven four-story buildings where "lights give a soft glow to the walkways in the evenings." Turquoise and white rooms, which score perfectly, evoke the coral reef, and have local woods and handmade furniture. Xtabay serves contemporary Mexican dishes under a palapa, although meals were "the low point of the visit—the Mexican food was not authentic." Perfect-scoring staff are "gracious, and wholly dependable."
