Behind a dust cloud of renovation that is quickly turning Palermo Soho into the city's coolest quarter, one 1920s European-style mansion has been reborn as the Bobo Hotel. Six of its seven seriously affordable rooms were inspired by twentieth-century movements (Art Deco, minimalism, pop, etc.)—some more successfully than others—but it's the seventh that's the real keeper. Done in the natural hues of the pampas, the top-floor Argentina is the sole suite, with a skylighted whirlpool tub and an enchanting balcony that evokes Left Bank luxury. Wireless Internet access is hotelwide; absent is a business center, although the young staff will gladly offer reception's setup should the need arise.
