Chamonix has been made safe for the Wallpaper set with the opening of this seven-room hotel, carved out of a 1927 Art Deco mansion with gorgeous views of Mont Blanc. The atmosphere is akin to a house party, since two of the rooms are "bunkhouse" suites that can sleep from five to seven hard-skiing, hard-partying types. Accommodations are luxuriously kitted out with feather comforters, fur hot-water bottles and throws, flat-screen TVs, wireless Internet access, and power showers. There are a variety of massages on offer to ease your aching limbs after a day on the slopes; alternatively, get cozy in front of the fire in the Clubhouse Bar, which ups the ante on après-ski with everything from unpasteurized local beers to rare Armagnacs. Marc Serres, the best chef in the Chamonix Valley, oversees the kitchen.
When to go: Christmas through late January is ideal.
