On the fashionable northern edge of the Marais, this eclectic 17-room hotel—each chambre with a different decor by Christian Lacroix—has been an instant hit. The lushly funky look is signature Lacroix, with rooms designed around fashion tropes: Baroque, op art, toile de Jouy. Accommodations make up for their petite size with loads of style and oversized and exceptionally comfortable beds done up in quality linens and accented with faux-fur throws. Not yet runway ready are the breakfast (inadequate) and the service (slack). But then fashion's no stranger to championing style over substance.
