Surrounded by trestled vineyards outside this wine-producing town in the province of Salta, Patios de Cafayate is in a former colonial mansion. Behind the grand facade of this 1892 propertynow owned by Bodega El Esteco (producer of premium Michel Torino and Don David wines)is a labyrinthine interior of vaulted corridors, shadowed courtyards, jasmine-draped gardens, and stone fountains. The 29 ample rooms are decorated with dark wood furniture, alpaca-metal fittings, and Andean tapestries.
