LOOKING FOR LISTS FROM OTHER YEARS?
Upstairs in the historic Curtin House (a former Communist party headquarters), you're in the dark-wood foyer of The Toff, as locals call this bar with two distinct rooms. In the cabaret space to the right, you might catch a singer-songwriter plucking a guitar, a jazz group, or a stand-up comic; turn left and you're in the main bar, where opulent brass, red leather stools, and marble fittings set the scene. The room is built around a vintage railway car with booths: Slide the door shut and you're in a den for furtive tête-à-têtes.
