A sleek rooftop spot with ambitious Chinese cuisine, My Humble House is anything but. The purple-hued dining room has gorgeous embroidered silk cushions, painted tapestries, and a patio overlooking the city. The food is similarly bold: Chef Sam Leong borrows from pretty much every province—including little-known Jiangsu and Anhui—to create surprising combinations. Foie gras works unexpectedly well with pan-seared scallops, as does baked lobster with miso paste and Parmesan crisps. Vegetarian selections such as stuffed eggplant with spicy black bean sauce are especially good (entrées, $15–$20).
