In a two-story mansion on a quiet tree-lined street in the once dodgy neighborhood of Kings Cross, this elegant restaurant-cum-lounge mixes Art Deco glam (think polished woods and white marble, plush velvet settees, and massive crystal chandeliers) with modern design touches and eclectic cuisine. The menu dips into both European and Asian traditions; rabbit and spinach croustade with a brandy sauce, and Vietnamese-inspired crab and shallot salad wrapped in sour mango rice pancakes. The excellent cheese list diplomatically includes domestic gems like Perth-made goat milk Kervella Rondolet.
