Following up on his wildly popular Whampoa Club in Shanghai, chef Jereme Leung has opened an outpost in Beijing's Xicheng District. Here he gives contemporary riffs on classic decor and food, beginning with the setting: a traditional siheyuan, or courtyard house, that has been converted into a dining area with silver spangles dangling strings of sequins overhead and private circular booths. Don't miss the spicy deep-fried wasabi prawns or Leung's take on the city's famed Peking duck, served with five-spice foie gras and mango served in pancakes (prix fixe, $70).
