Chef Anthony Demetre has scored again with this follow-up to his Soho hot spot, Arbutus. It may occupy the oak-paneled former digs of a gentlemen's club, but Wild Honey has a distinctly unpretentious vibe and a sublime modern European menu so reasonably priced (the three-course set lunch is $30) that it seems almost criminal in Mayfair's gilded environs. Standouts of the game-heavy menu include juicy English snails scattered over a thick pancake and the ultimate roast in the form of buttery Scottish Buccleuch beef. Wild honey ice cream with honeycomb is a subtle finish. Wines are equally affordable, starting at $25 for a bottle of crisp white Les Bastions Côtes de St-Mont (entrées, $30–$34).
