Perched like extravagant tree houses above Petite Anse, the resort's 67 villas, each with a 302-square-foot infinity pool and outdoor rain shower, have a style that's part Parisian salon (family heirlooms and contemporary art) and part Creole home (market finds and painted armoires). In fact, the resort's design was inspired by a Creole village, with the beachside Kannel restaurant and bar, and main pool representing the sociable market place. There were some service kinks in its early weeks (the resort opened in February), including a noticeable lack of Seychellois staff to share insider knowledge. But the powder-sand beach (exclusive to guests), hilltop spa with wraparound views from the yoga pavilion, and relaxing setting go a long way toward fulfilling guests' desire to get away from it all.
When to go: Even though weather stays fairly constant year-round, rates drop dramatically during the low season (Apr.-May and Sept.-Oct.).
Which room to book: Garden-view villas Nos. 308 and 309, for best beach access; oceanview villas Nos. 415 and 416 for privacy.
