Dave Mitton follows up his wildly successful Czehoski's with another, equally appealing, hipster bistro. Plunked firmly in the leafy Annex neighborhood, the space is a patented shabby-chic mix of bleached wood, antique sconces, exposed brick, and a rough-hewn bar. Though the tiny front room barely seats 30, summer reveals a heavenly back garden, with tables set under a pear tree. Chef Cory Vitiello makes a stellar burger, but also turns out first-rate charcuterie (try the velvety chicken liver mousse) and seasonal dishes like creamy risotto with braised veal cheeks and fava beans. The wine list, by well-known sommelier Anton Potvin, is brief enough to allow for easy picking.
Tip: Scenesters come for the city's best late-night menu (entrées, $12–$24).
