If the Starship Enterprise had a spa wing, it would be like the Dolder Grand. The 43,000-square-foot space was dreamed up by an international team of designers: exterior by Norman Foster, interiors by United Designers, and an Asian-inspired concept by world-renowned spa consultant Sylvia Sepielli. An eerily lit catwalk brings guests from the main hotel to the spa wing, where the emphasis is on water: The Japanese-inspired Aqua Zone consists of indoor and outdoor whirlpools, steam baths, and a stunning black-tiled pool with views of Zurich and the surrounding mountains. La Prairie caviar facials and Swedish and detox massages using Kerstin Florian oils are administered in treatment rooms connected by a dimly lit hallway. Ladies' and men's locker rooms—each with a sauna, a steam bath, a Japanese footbath, a cold plunge, and a solarium—are spas in themselves.
