Like the InterContinental Montelucia in which it is housed, the Joya Spa has a Moroccan vibe, right down to the desert views of a camel-shaped mountain from the pool terrace and spa suites—which include the whopping 850-square-foot Grand Palace suite. Moorish touches (metal lanterns, earthy colors) are found throughout the facility and its 19 treatment rooms, and guests can precede any treatment with a traditional bathing ritual in the hammam, an Arizona rarity. The Joyambrosia signature massage employs three types of oil: Morocco's ancient argan, Spanish citrus, and Moroccan mint; a massage table that vibrates to music you select transports guests back to the twenty-first century .
