An ode to the pre-Columbian history of the Riviera Maya, this woody haven on the Yucatán's Caribbean coast is infused with a sense of ritual. After crossing the lagoon that separates the spa from the rest of the resort, each guest is given a sweet, grassy "green juice," which is said to have healing properties. Each session begins with a footbath in one of the 12 sparse treatment rooms surrounded by dense tropical forest. In the Mayakobá Ancient Massage, the scents of indigenous herbs are used to cleanse, then calm. Post-treatment, guests sip açai-infused seltzer and nibble on fresh fruit, and then plunge into an ancient cenote. For those who prefer chlorine, there's also a heated pool.
