What: In a private wing of the Taj Falaknuma Palace, two large single massage suites and a couples suite, a beauty salon, and a relaxation room. Men's and women's locker areas have their own private steam and chill showers. There's an outdoor swimming pool in a lush garden.

The look: In the treatment rooms, cream-colored walls are embellished with a simple, slender gold frieze. The reception is comparatively gaudy, with walls in a perplexingly bright and busy Western chintz.

Who goes: Indian fat cats and European sophistiqués.

The treatment: The Nawab-e-Khaas, in a rose petal-strewn treatment room, uses techniques and ingredients that are said to have pampered Hyderabadi nobility, and includes a scrub of crushed almonds, rose petals, vetiver, saffron, and herbs.
