Dutchman Hans Smit has been on Antigua since 1965, beguiling visitors, celebrities, and Antiguans with handmade, one-of-a-kind necklaces, bracelets, rings, and other jewelry. The mix of traditionally cut gems and more playful hand-wrought gold pieces makes for wide appeal. Prices also vary: Our favorites range from intricate gold earrings reminiscent of sand dollars (priced in the hundreds) to a regal 25-carat multicolored tourmaline necklace that will set you back several thousand.
Open Sundays through Fridays 9 am to 4:30 pm, Saturdays 9 am to 3 pm.
