Aruba + Bonaire + Curaçao nightlife
Although a certain spring-break attitude blights some bars near the cruise-ship terminal in Oranjestad, Aruba, most clubs and pubs in Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao strive for an easygoing atmosphere, especially establishments that draw a local crowd. Aruba's Bugaloe Beach Bar thankfully draws more expats than spring-breakers, and Gouverneur de Rouville in Curaçao is perfect for a drink and a sampling of local cuisine. Overwater spots like Karel's in Bonaire are a good bet for the party atmosphere, while low-key spots such as the island's Little Havana are better if you want to sip, not slam, your beverage. Beer is the drink of choice here, but you'll find a preponderance of blue-hued cocktails, owing to the islands' most-famous tipple, blue Curaçao, an orange-flavored, azure-colored liqueur distilled on the eponymous island.
