Afternoon siestas provide a much-needed break between day and night carousing in Cabo San Lucas, an all-out party town from one dawn to the next. Nightlife in San José is somewhat classier, while the Corridor's exclusive hotels provide live jazz, guitar trios, and cigar bars for their more mellow, high-rolling guests. If you're visiting Cabo to sample its legendary bars, stay close to San Lucas or you'll spend a fortune on cabs.
Bars on the beach and around San Lucas's Boulevard Marina stretch happy hour into a half-day event, offering two-for-one beers and margaritas from midday to long after dark. Rowdy anything-goes rock 'n roll bars fire up around 9 pm and keep dancers fueled with tequila shots till long after midnight. Classier clubs with live bands and celeb DJs heat up slowly, with conversationalists arriving around 10 for martinis before crowds jam around fire pits and lounge beds around midnight. Cover charges start at about $10 at music clubs, and bottle service is popular.
