Concierge.com's insider take:
The first chic modern hotel in Port de Sóller, a beachside property next to the pretty, parochial Mallorcan town of Sóller, opened in June 2004. The somewhat sleepy burg hasn't been especially on the map, but this development may be a sign that this is about to change. Though the building is blocky to look at from the outside, the personal touch of the Alcover family brings a good deal of charm to this lovable little contemporary place. The 43 rooms have dark-stained wood and white built-in furniture, clean-lined tan and brown chairs and couches, individual climate control, phones, minibars, Internet, TV, bathrobes, and, in all but the standard rooms, balconies. There's a spa with St. Barth products, various hydrotherapies, steam, and massage, and a pool with a deck and Wi-Fi. The Airecel restaurant is the town's new hot spot. Viva la north coast. It also has a couple of attractive package deals, such as golfing and wellness weekends.
Closed Mid-November through January.
