In the north, perched far above the sea, is this self-consciously Zen deluxe haven. Its 65 rooms are incongruously handsome, with Balinese and Indonesian antique furniture and bedouin rugs; most of these have Jacuzzis at the very least, some on terraces, and a few have private pools, too. There's a new, classy spa, La Posidonia, with possibly the world's only treatments that take place in a network of little pools and waterfalls carved into the cliffs (a Talasso Lounge spa will be added this winter when the hotel is closed). Four good restaurants mean the well-heeled world-traveler guests need never leave the hushed enclave of calm and the heavenly views from the pool terraces.
