If it is your first trip to Bangkok, do not take the $40 cab ride that is offered to youat the airport. Go outside the terminal and get a cab, tell the driver to use the meter, In fact, use the meter at all times when getting a cab or negotiate a price beforehand when you are in Bangkok. Also, in Bangkok never ever order seafood unless you know it is ordered by the gram. A seammingly $20 meal will run you about $300. Be wary. And, your cab driver is not your best friend, he is a commissioned salesman. If he brings you somewhere you will pay the normal price, or higher plus his commission. Have him drop you off and then go shopping . If he recommends something, be wary. Then, barter and barter hard , it's worth it. report a problemPosted on: November 09, 2008 at 7:20PM
