Barcelona restaurants

Barcelona's restaurants bear the unmistakable imprint of culinary genius Ferran Adría and the army of young chefs influenced by his gastro-technological innovations to create tasty foams and unexpected flavor combinations. While some restaurants in Barcelona, such as Comerç 24, still deliver the molecular gastronomy goods, a budget-conscious backlash was inevitable. Now Barcelona is seeing a new wave of more economy-minded restaurants opened by the city's culinary elite, such as Paco Guzman's Santa. In the beginning, of course, there were tapas—and tapas there will be in the end as well. Seek out the most memorable morsels in the bars that surround Barcelona's markets, particularly the Boqueria and Santa Caterina.
