Gone are the days when Beijing nightlife fans gazed enviously at the bright lights of Shanghai. Today, the capital's after-dark scene is buzzing with New China energy, ambition, and financial investment. Less showy, noticeably cheaper, and substantially more creative than Shanghai's, Beijing's bar and club scene is evolving fast.
