My wife and I spent our honeymoon here in 1968 and have been coming ever since. It is one of the few places in Hawaii that have retained the true spirit of ALOHA and have not followed the path of change for changes sake. We love the idea of living in our own hut, with no television and no intercom telephone to remind us of the problems of the world. We relish the idea of walking to the dining room over a path that replaces the corridors of huge hotels. We are now encountering third generation guests who share our interest in the culture and a chance to recharge at our own pace. We share our lives for a short time with francolins, kestrels, mynah birds, and sea turtles. The food is wonderful as is the ambience. It is a home away from home.
