But of course, Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Atlantic (etc.) had to have a Virgin Island. And he's quite happy to lend you Necker's 74 acres of paradise. It's a mile north of Virgin Gorda, and has a nine-bedroom great house and five one-bedroom cottages, four pools, three beaches, water sports (with instruction), crewed boats, fishing, toys and games. There's also a gym, spa (treatments extra), tennis courts, chefs, food, drink, and staff. The entire island is done in Branson's favored Balinese style, which may lead to confusion after one of the theme nights the staff likes to whip up (when requested). Should you lack the friends to fill the place (unlikely, if you can afford these rates), you can tag onto a Celebration Week, held during the early fall, when the island devolves into a hotel/house party.
